Christmas and the Holiday Season is a special time of year.  It is one of those times when we realize what and who is most important in our lives. We think about who we are celebrating with and recognize that these are the most valuable connections we have.

It is no wonder that of the ten most popular days to get engaged throughout the year, 7 of the 10 are either on Christmas, Christmas Eve or within 7 days of Christmas and New Year’s.  (I guess I fall into that normalcy, as I was engaged on New Year’s Eve Day… in 2003!)

One of the things that I believe is most important for the other 51 weeks of the year, is how those other connections are ignited and fostered. Yes, the connection with those most special to you are the ones that are reinforced and strengthened during the holidays, but how about all of those other connections throughout the year?

Back to those engagements, very few of those people actually met that 52nd week of the year.  98% of them were formed the other 51 weeks of the year, they were just cemented then as the most special.

Vision and Values

There are eight principles that we at Fitlife hope to live by every day:

  1. Being Passionate
  2. Being Courageous
  3. Being Contagious
  4. Being Accountable
  5. Building Connections
  6. Being Grateful
  7. Getting some Grit and Having Fun
  8. Fueling Your Growth

The one we speak of most is #5 – Building Connections.

quote“Building Connections… from our family to our friends to our co-workers and amazing customers, genuine relationships are what we value and take joy in every day.  After all, we’re in this together.”

When you walk into a room, an office or a house, are you looking forward to who you are seeing there? The ability to build and sustain connections is not some theory; it is real. It is something that is felt though vs. seen and occurs because of nuances.  Active listening, smiling, eye contact, asking open ended questions, disagreeing without being disagreeable, complementing the good and only talking about someone if you would say it when they are standing directly behind you; this is what it takes to build connections.

At Fitlife Foods, our focus is not just on the ingredients, sauces, spice blends and perfect balance of nutrients in your healthy pre-made meals, it is also in our ability to connect with you.  We know that if you are willing to let us in and get a glimmer of who you are, then we can help you become the best version of yourself.  It is because of these connections we build in Project U, our one to one weight loss and performance studio, where we get to see incredible change occur.

The Osterweil family

So, as we embrace the season and we value the connections with those who we love the most, know that it is the other connections that are built the other 51 weeks of the year that make the connections we cherish so much this week count. We are focused on you, our valued customers this holiday season by valuing the power of each connection.

Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, Happy New Year and a Happy Festivus for the Rest of Us!

Be Awesome!
