I am so excited that as part of our new blog, I will get a chance to give you all a look under the cover of Fitlife Foods and few things that go through my mind
As we are gearing up for Thanksgiving, I always think of this week as the kick off to race season. I am sure that many of you have been training for your first 5K on Thanksgiving morning, while others will be looking for a personal best at the annual affair. This year, I am going to run the Goody Goody 8K in downtown Tampa. It is awesome that a restaurant like Goody Goody (a Tampa institution resurrected by the Gonzmart family) would sponsor this race. Run it and then eat some burgers and a pie. Why not… it is one day, gotta love them for stepping up and making it happen for the community.
I can’t say I have done any special training for this race. It’s been about 6 months since my last race, so I am just hoping to feel well. Whether I am racing or not, I try to keep myself in a condition that just keeps me ready to go when I want to sign up. This week, I will be eating a lot of Supercharged Chicken, Hong Kong Unfried Rice and Chicken Pho as I prep for Thursday’s race as well as my usual breakfast and afternoon snack packs. For those who know me, know that when it comes to food, I love to keep it balanced.
After the Goody Goody Thanksgiving 8K, I will be enjoying my family’s cooking. My wife Laura and our two kids Sloane (9) and Zach (6) will be joining my sister and her family as well as my wife’s sister, my parents and in-laws; a coming together of the families.
Everyone is tasked with something to bring. Our family was chosen to bring a craft for the 4 kids coming to dinner. We have decided to do a gratitude jar. The idea is that you get a large mason jar and decorate the outside with bedazzled jewels, sports images or photos that mean something special to you. Then you make gratitude slips. Each day you add a new one to the jar. Just one thing each day that you are grateful for. At the end of the year, you have 365 things to look back on that you are grateful for.
I am going to start out by saying I am grateful for my family, but I am also VERY grateful for our FitFam at Fitlife Foods. All 220 team members are working endlessly each day to give the most delicious, powerful and innovative dishes to power you to be at your best. We are committed to you, which makes me eternally grateful to our customers. We could not do what we do every day in our stores, with our Project U Wellness Program and through delivery if it were not for YOU.
